So last week my husband and I decided to challenge ourselves by having him pick my outfits for the entire week. A whole 7 days, and I had to wear whatever he picked. Of course when we were discussing this challenge, my husband felt a lot of pressure to pick things I liked, and I felt a lot of anxiety knowing that no matter what he picked, I had already agreed to wear it no matter how I felt in it.

Monday
On Monday I had a few doctors appointments to make, packing to do for our overnight trip to the beach, and some housework. The outfit my husband picked was a black and white striped cotton dress and some tan sandals. The outfit was cool, comfortable, and practical. It also made me feel really pretty even though I was having a day where typically I tend to feel the opposite.
Since I had off for the week, we headed up to North Beach, MD for the night and spent the morning on the beach relaxing. It was very nice. Though he picked which bathing suit I wore, I don’t have a photo (we were too busy enjoying the beach haha!). You can find it on amazon here.

Tuesday
Later that evening we had a double date with some friends at an escape room. So my Tuesday outfit was this lightweight red and white polka dot tank top with white shorts, and white converse. The outfit was cute, comfy, functional, and flattering. Seeing a pattern yet?

Wednesday
On Wednesday my husband picked the classic Walk In Love Tee in pink. I love the Walk In Love products and my husband clearly does too since this is the first of two that he chose for me to wear this week. He paired this tee with my white jeans and gold sandals. The outfit was yet again cute, comfy, functional, and flattering. In just three days I have already learned how my husband likes to see me. But let’s continue. On this day I grabbed coffee with a friend that I hadn’t seen in about a year and just spent most of the day unwinding. I was surprised at how much energy an overnight trip took out of me so full disclosure, I spent a good chunk of my time on Netflix. The moments that I wasn’t on Netflix however, I did spend working on the merch store which will officially launch on MONDAY AUGUST 20! More info will be shared about this on my instagram page which you can follow right here!

Thursday
On Thursday I had another self care day filled with Netflix. Oops! Seriously though, I never spend this much time vegging out and watching TV but after those two days of it I felt so refreshed! I have always been a girl constantly on the go, always having something to do, and never taking a moment to just do nothing. It was great. For this day, my husband picked another Walk In Love tee. This one he had given me as a gift for our first Christmas together so it holds some sentimental value. He paired it with the lighter wash of Old Navy’s denim shorts. These have a 5in inseam, are crazy comfortable, and have been my favorite shorts this summer! It was chilly in the house so I was also wearing the Forever 21 cardigan I had gotten from my friend Wednesday and my gold sandals from Payless!
That evening I had an interview with a man who gave me such an incredible testimony which I am SO PUMPED to get out to you! It’s amazing, and I cried, and God does things that are completely out of this world cool. After the interview my husband and I went to Target to just “walk around”. It’s kind of our place since that’s where Evan asked me to officially be his girlfriend and everything so when we want a random impromptu date, that’s where we go. Needless to say, we bought things we didn’t need, and realized we “needed” so many things for the house. But it was fun and a truly treasured moment!

Friday
Friday, the highlight of our day was a church staff pool party. Like most staff spouses, or female staff members, I did not get in the pool haha. So Evan picked light wash old navy shorts and this cute black and white printed top to go with it. He went with simple but cute.

Saturday
Saturday we spent the majority of our day cleaning our entire condo, which was both stressful and stress relieving if you know what I mean! And then later that evening we had some friends over for homemade tacos and board games. It was a lot of fun! The day definitely called for something I could easily do housework in so Evan chose this high neck black tank top from old navy with the new leggings and sneakers I had gotten this week from Target! I not only felt super comfortable in this outfit but I felt like it was really flattering too.

Sunday
So Sunday was the day that shocked me the most. I have a closet filled with dresses, fancy tops, pants, you name it. There are times where I definitely give way to my girly side, so when my husband picked LuLaRoe for my Sunday Best I was somewhat surprised. I did feel pretty in the gray and white striped Irma and solid black leggings but I also felt extremely comfortable, like pajama level comfort. It was refreshing to know that my husband thinks I look my best when I am COMFORTABLE. Literally every outfit he had picked for me this week was nothing less than comfortable. It was great. It was refreshing to know that I don’t need to wear things that are itchy, scratchy, tight, or irritating in any way. My husband picked the most cozy items in my closet and said I looked beautiful in every single one of them.
I think often times as women we think we need to wear somewhat uncomfortable clothing and shoes to impress our men. But I think what it boils down to is when we feel good, we look good… and not always the other way around. When you’re comfortable, it shows. When you’re uncomfortable, that shows too! And I think unconsciously my husband has taken a mental note of that. Which is pretty darn cool by the way. I learned a lot about him and what he finds the most attractive about me this week. And it was such a relief that it wasn’t the fancy clothes and high heels!
When we feel good, we look good… and not always the other way aroundClick To TweetSo now I am challenging you, dear reader and friend of mine, to go challenge your spouse to pick your outfits for an entire week! I challenge you to wear what he picks for you. And I challenge you to have fun with them while doing it! This was so much fun and exciting to see what my husband picked for me each morning! It was so cool to have him help me in this way. And it was great because I didn’t even have to worry about what I would be putting on that day! He already picked it for me! When you do this challenge please share with me on social media by tagging @coffeetalkcaylee and using #hepickedthis. Or send them to me directly at caylee@coffeetalk.online!
