Okay my blogging family, you have shown interest in knowing which apps I use when working with Coffee Talk so here we go. There are many helpful tools out there for growing your audience, your brand, and discovering your voice. I am still learning a lot and would certainly not call myself an avid blogging expert or anything. But I would say that Coffee Talk with Caylee is growing, and that’s mostly thanks to you. I’m so happy to know what you’re interested in and what you want to hear more about. It truly helps me in more ways than you know.
BLOG TOOLS
WordPress
My website is a wordpress website. I really like this app because it helps me to track my progress for each post and see how many visitors I am getting from each of my social sites, demographics, etc.
Followers +
So, we all know this whole “follow/unfollow” thing is kind of a drag. Especially for any newer blogger trying to figure out who their ideal audience is and to generate their platform. I like this app because it lets me know who is or isn’t following me back, and it notifies me whenever someone has unfollowed, deleted their like or comment, or blocked me. At first this app was a killer to my self esteem but then I was able to clean up my accounts and gather a genuine following with authentic engagement which is actually growing my blog in a much better way.
Voice Memos
A lot of what I do requires interviewing. You really don’t need a snazzy recording device because this one comes built right into your iphone. I am able to record conversations, or even my own thoughts and use them for writing at a later time.
Adobe Spark Post
This is my favorite image making app. Most of the images I make are from this app because you can use a variety of stock photos or your own photos to add text that appropriately goes with your post. I also like this app because it has different sizes that perfectly adjust to any social platform that you are wishing to post to.
Canva
I like Canva for the same reasons as Spark Post. You can adjust your photo size for any social site using this app which makes creating your media much easier!
iMovie
This is how I am mostly making my Vlogs at the moment. I am kind of new to the video making thing but I like how simple this app makes editing videos and exporting them. If you’re a newbie to video like me, I highly recommend giving this app a try.
SOCIAL MEDIA
At this moment, most of my blog traffic is coming from Instagram. As I have discovered that my blog is more of a Christian Lifestyle blog, I have been able to use this network to influence my followers and give them a preview of my life through the stories feature. You can find me on instagram at @coffeetalkonline.
Twitter was strongly suggested for bloggers because each tweet is basically a “mini blog post”. At this time I am still trying to grow this platform and I mainly use it to connect my personal and professional images into one giant sum of Caylee. You can find me on Twitter at @coffeetlkonline.
This is my second most successful social site and where I am bringing a lot of traffic to my blog page from. Most of my audience engages and shares my posts via Facebook. There are also great support groups for bloggers on here where you can bounce of ideas, share your posts, and engage with other bloggers for insight and advice. You can find me on Facebook @coffeetalkonline or by searching Coffee Talk with Caylee.
I have always had a Pinterest, mostly because I think it’s awesome I have found a ton of great recipes and workout ideas on there. It wasn’t until just recently that I discovered I should have been using my Pinterest to share my blog. A lot of the blogging community seeks Pinterest for finding other blogs, sharing each other’s content, and so much more. It’s a great place to be sharing your inspirational, DIY, decorating, and lifestyle posts because this is typically why people are on Pinterest and what they are looking to pin. You can find me on Pinterest by searching Caylee Connelly.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Lightroom
Truth be told, I am new to photos. I am still learning this app but, all the great photographers I know use this app and swear by it. If you are taking your own photos to put in your blog posts, I definitely recommend taking the time to edit them a little before hitting the publish button. It makes a world of a difference in how your post will succeed.
CutStory
Stories are a great feature both on Facebook and Instagram. But sometimes you have a video that it longer than 15 seconds and you’d like to share it, but aren’t sure how to do it. CutStory takes any length video and will cut it into consecutive videos that are the appropriate length for the platform in which you are trying to share to. This has been a lifesaver for me on Instagram.
Boomerang
I love Boomerang. And sometimes I don’t feel like going into the Instagram app and making a story just to get a cool video. The boomerang app has been very fun and helpful for capturing cool “bounce back” style videos!
Disclosure: I have a lot more apps that are on my phone, I use on occasion, and even like a lot. The apps included in this post are the ones I use most often, love the most, and highly recommend for anyone interested in growing their blog.
